2004 YAMAHA XV1700 RoadStar, The relaxed ergonomics of the Road Star will suit riders better than most hammocks, thanks in part to a stretched-out 66.5-inch wheelbase. Comfort is the operative word, and the big-bore Yamaha allows you to log up long distances without any aching anatomy. You can sit back and chug along looking at the scenery, feeling cool. The lowered gearing adds that little bit of help that removes any waltzing of the clutch and throttle to get going. It's like a tractor off the line. On tight winding country roads with any kind of speed or in town loping through a tight turn, you'll probably find yourself dragging the floorboards. Other than the grating sound of scraping metal against pavement that may spook cross-walking pedestrians in the Road Star's path, it's really nothing to worry about on the stable machine

1973 Yamaha TZ750 Works Prototype #409-100001 Up For Auction
Fri, 27 Dec 2013For just $120,000, you too can be the owner of a special piece of motorcycling history. Up for grabs on eBay is the 1973 Yamaha TZ750 that started it all. Claimed by the current owner to be the test mule of none other than Kel Carruthers in 1973, this TZ carries the number #409-100001. Yamaha Works GP rider Sadeo Asami cared for the motorcycle for much of its racing life until it was returned to Yamaha USA where it was destined for the crusher.

Wed, 13 Oct 2010Suzuki’s GSX-R600 might not look that much different to the outgoing model but I suspect this bike could be very much a dark horse in 2011. I say this because two years ago I was definitely not building my hopes up en route to the K9 GSXR 1000 launch. The leaked pictures suggested the biggest change from the 2007 version would be some fresh graphics but I was so wrong. As it turned out, I was greeted in Almeria with a brand new bike, built from the tarmac up and it proved to be more than a match in every department for the much hyped 2009 Yamaha R1.

But at Round Four at O.o Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., Ryan Villopoto showed why he remains the top dog, leading each lap for his second win of the season. The Kawasaki rider only trailed at the very start of the race, as Honda rider Vince Friese took the holeshot with Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton slotting in second through the first corner.
