2009 Blk/Yellow Yahmaha R1. Selling my baby. She's not even broke in - just over 2k miles. Has after market exhaust, cross-plane engine with the built in mode selection for different throttle mappings. A mode rocks! select normal or B for a less aggressive throttle. Very cool feature. Less than 2300mis. $1000 after-market exhaust, integrated rear turn single light $150, flush-mount front signals, plate illumination light, custom brake fluid reservoir Yamaha cover, and smoked windscreen. Selling due to other obligations. Has scuff near seat where trickle charger plugin melted causing a mark. Nothing serious and is reflected in the price. Mileage will increase as I ride year-round. Jack Chen from Australia has not only made a mockery of my model making failures, but he also made this version which is 40% smaller than a full-size Yamaha YZF-R1, out of cardboard.

Thu, 22 Mar 2012Yamaha Factory Racing today posted on its YouTube page a video interview with Ben “Elbowz” Spies, in which Spies discusses the soon to start 2012 season of MotoGP. In his usual calm, cool and under control manner Spies speaks frankly on how he prefers the 1000cc GP machine, saying it suits his style (elbows out!) better than the previous seasons’ 800cc bikes because the extra torque and horsepower of the liter-class bikes are, essentially, better matched to his physical stature. Spies also answers honestly the question of who he thinks he needs to keep an eye in 2012, including his teammate, Jorge Lorenzo.
