Yamaha Other description

You get a classic retro naked/UJM bike with 21st century engineering, including fuel injection and a 4-stroke single.

MSRP is $5990
.

This bike comes with a Dart flyscreen, Saddlemen tail/tunnel bag, and sturdy cel phone/GPS holder.
I also had the the manufacturer recommended full 600 mile service done at Gilbane Motorsports.
I also added after-market grip foam (Grip Buddies) but those can be removed if they are not to your taste.
That's a combined $500 value, and a bike that's just broken in.

This bike is agile and fun to ride; it's made for country highways. It's also very quiet, if that matters to you. The seat is incredibly comfortable.

THIS BIKE IS KICK-START ONLY.

Everyone who has seen it (including a LOT of strangers) has admired the bike and many newer riders were fascinated by the kick start, having never used one themselves.
While electronic start is awesome, kick-start will work even with a dead battery, you just need a hill or a push.

It has a cheater glass to show you if the piston is at Top Dead Center, which makes for a perfect kick every time. (It also uses a decompression valve so you can goose it into TDC).
I can show you how to kick-start it perfectly in two minutes.

This bike has always been garaged.

I'm trying to move 1000 miles and basically getting rid anything that won't fit in a single truck.

The bike went on its side in gravel and there is very light damage, which you can see in the last 2 pics. I have shown the bike to one person locally and they didn't notice the damage even knowing that.

The pictures are closeups from inches away in order to make those scratches look obvious but trust me, it is not obvious. Feel free to come by and look at it any time.

The bike looks mint because it otherwise is. It starts, runs, sounds beautiful.

The $125 deposit is to cover the Insertion Fee for a sale, and to make sure you are a serious buyer.

Of course the deposit will be returned/deducted from what you owe when you come pay for the vehicle.

Clear MO title, bike is paid off, comes with lien release from bank.

1974: Onboard an MV racer with Phil Read

Fri, 19 Feb 2010

ANOTHER CRACKING BIT of vintage racing footage, this time featuring multiple motorcycle world champion Phil Read on the awesome-sounding MV Agusta 500-4.The footage is from the 1974 movie 'The Iron Horse' made by Frenchman Pierre-William Glenn.Read’s 1974 500cc World Championship victory was the last year a four-stroke won the world title before the advent of the MotoGP class in 2002. Giacomo Agostini won the crown from Yamaha in 1975, followed by Suzuki-mounted Barry Sheene in '76 and '77. The footage is bloody good, considering the camera technology of the day.

Say what you will about the depleted state of the American roadracing scene, it shouldn’t diminish the fact Hayes put in the effort and beat some formidable challengers to the title. Here, the AMA congratulates Josh Hayes on his accomplishment.
