Yamaha Road Star description

I am the 2nd owner of this bike and I bought it when it had 500mis on it. It has never been down or dropped. It is in perfect condition. It is ready for the summer season. This is Yamaha s famous POWER CRUISER, their HOT ROD of the group. This bike is not for the timid rider, it is a factory high performance bike and it is a blast to ride.It has a 102 cu. in. 1670cc air cooled V-Twin that pumps out incredible low rpm torque and acceleration. It has electronic fuel injection which produces awesome power throughout the rev range. It also has a 5 gear close ratio transmission and low maintenance belt drive. The frame is a light weight aluminum double cradle frame. It has an R-1 derived truss type aluminum swingarm that delivers exceptional cornering. It also has R-1 derived inverted forks and R-1 derived dual front disc brakes along with rear disc brake. Rear suspension is a pre-load adjustable mono shock. The wheels are lightweight cast aluminum 3 spoke with competition spec 120 70 ZR18 radial up front and a 200 50 ZR17 radial in back for super grip in the corners. The bike has a wheelbase of 65.6 with a seat height of only 28.5 and ground clearance of 6.1 for a low center of gravity. The weight is 606 pounds. so go ahead and power through those curves and enjoy!*Custom paint by Evil Wheels of Santa Cruz. Flame work is awesome, very ghosty, not in your face, but really pops in the sun. *BUB brand two into 1 slash cut exhaust w re-packable baffle and billet end cap (deep and loud).*Baron custom 1-1 4 dragbars.*Kuryakyn ISO grips with throttle boss and helmet lock.*Chrome Tribal Iron mirrors.*Dynojet power commander III (for fine tuning fuel injection).*Factory solo seat. What resulted was getting to witness the exciting and talented Japanese riders, and bring new riders to the attention of the teams.

Best Helmet Designs from the 2009 MotoGP Season

Thu, 22 Oct 2009

Unlike with most athletes, motorcycle racers’ faces remain hidden during competition. Except for promotional events or pre- and post-race interviews, the faces of our racing heroes are shielded under protective helmets with tinted visors. You don’t see the same human emotion in their faces like you can when soccer players score a goal or baseball players hit a home run.

Yamaha Recalls R1 and Super Tenere for Overheating Headlights

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

Yamaha has started a recall campaign on 2009-2013 YZF-R1 sportbikes and 2012-2013 Super Ténéré models because of a risk of headlight failure due to overheating. The recall campaign affects 19,045 units of the R1 and 4,683 units of the Super Ténéré in the U.S. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, heat generated by the headlight bulb socket may cause the terminal ends to expand, resulting in arcing between the terminal connector and bulb contact.
