Yamaha V Max description

Hi folks, you are looking at my 99 vmax, been in our family since new, bike is mechanically stock, and she runs great, I installed a new starter clutch last year. Before you let the mileage scare you, these bikes are known to go well over 100k miles before needing a overhaul, this  engine runs smooth and makes lots of power, I will note there is a small oil leak underneath, but I can't honestly say where it's coming from, it doesn't drip on the garage, but I can smell it at times. I would guess maybe the shifter seal. the clutch is good and the transmission has NO shifting issues. the original carbon fiber look was repainted gloss black. Paint does have a few chips and nicks here and there but still shines up really nice, It has the a corbin seat, a rear seat backrest, detachable windshield and engine guards,  I also have the stock seat and grab handle. I trust the bike completely and you can ride it anywhere with confidence. The only other things I can think to mention is the rear tire tread is borderline and it will need a ten dollar seal replaced soon where driveshaft goes into diff, i'm not sure what yamaha calls it, if it were a car it would be called a pinion seal, other than a couple minor things overall it's in real good shape and it has never let me down in the ten years I've owned it. You can trust what I say is what you'll get, I tell it like it is so there are no surprises. Being sold as-is so please read descritipon and ask questions before you bid. Thanks Rob!!!!

EICMA 2011 Preview: 2012 Yamaha TMax – Scooterus Maximus [Video]

Tue, 18 Oct 2011

The 2011 EICMA show in Milan is just a few weeks away and from what we’ve seen from the manufacturers so far, it looks like the prevailing theme this year is the maxi-scooter. Honda will present its 700cc dual clutch transmission Integra scooter at EICMA, BMW announced it will unveil two new maxi-scooters in Milan, and Aprilia is rebadging an 850cc V-Twin Gilera scooter as the SRV 850. And now Yamaha is jumping into the fray with an update to its popular TMax.

Catalina Island (California) Grand Prix Slated for 2010 Return [video]

Wed, 26 May 2010

The Catalina Grand Prix was last run in 1958 on Santa Catalina Island, an island community situated approximately 22 miles south-southwest of greater Los Angeles. Efforts by the AMA, AMA District 37, Big6 (a smaller collection of clubs within the D-37 region) and promotional company My Cuz Vinnie Promotions LLC, have secured December 3-5, 2010 as dates for the event, with a 100-mile professional race held on the 5th. In 2008 vintage motorcycles were displayed on Crescent Ave.

Max Biaggi loses the plot . . and very nearly his teeth !

Tue, 29 Mar 2011

I’ve just got back from Donington Park and the second round of the World Superbike championship. The racing was exciting, going off without a hitch, and the weather was unseasonably kind, but the meeting will be remembered by those in the fairly close knit WSB paddock for reasons other than the temperature or the race results. It’ll be remembered by most, especially those who witnessed it, as the meeting where Max Biaggi finally lost his already feeble grip on reality.
