Yamaha V Max description

Clean title in hand, must sell. new MSRP $17,990 +dealer fees, markup, or $20k out the door.

Purchased new in March of 2009, this is the first year of the returning Generation 2 Vmax. Bike was never down, tipped over, etc. Always garage kept 100% of the time when not in use. Lots of information can be found online about this awesome machine, but here are the highlights.

-1,679cc (102 cubic inch) 16-valve V-4 engine
-198 horsepower, 125 lb-ft torque at crank
-standard ABS disc brakes with radial mount calipers, wave rotors, and Brembo radial pump master cylinder
-fully adjustable suspension including 52mm fork with black titanium oxide coating
-30.5" seat height, 683 lbs wet

This is a highly capable machine that I would recommend for experienced riders looking for the absolute most thrilling ride on the street. The bike has 15,250 miles currently and is located in Gilroy, CA. I have loved owning this bike but my family has just relocated to the Bay area and I am parting ways with many belongings to downsize our lifestyle, this motorcycle included.

Some items of interest:
-Bike has no engine or chassis modifications (doesn't need it)
-Engine always ran full synthetic oil, changed every 3,000 miles
-The air filter was upgraded when routine service interval required replacement of the OE filter
-The rear license plate bracket and fender extension was removed to clean up the look of the rear
-Rear turn signals are integrated into the taillight, and license plate is tucked up high
-Both tires are brand new, Bridgestone Battlax BT-028 same as OE, with less than 1 mile on them (just rolling the bike around)
-Fork seals were replaced last year and fork oil was replaced with Ohlins premium oil
- New EBC Extreme Pro front brake pads
-Brand new performance AGM battery
-Yamaha accessory hard luggage ($500 value) is included! It is custom styled for this bike and has awesome riveted, brushed-finish aluminum accent plates. yes this bike can tour!

The only flaws I could find were some very light scuffs on the sides of the rear fender from the hard luggage contact. Could very likely be buffed out. There is a very minor scratch on top of the right side intake scoop, looks like from something rubbing against the scoop in my garage.

Let me know if you have any questions. I can deliver within a 200 mile radius for a fee.  Please contact me to discuss shipping arrangements if you plan to transport the bike.  Thanks for your interest.

    Recall for 2009-2011 Yamaha V-Max

    Fri, 30 Sep 2011 00:00:00 -0700

Yamaha is issuing a recall campaign on certain 2009-2011 V-Max power cruisers due to a potential risk of oil pump malfunction. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, abnormally high oil pressure can build up within the oil pump of certain Yamaha V-Max models. The high pressure may force the washer on the oil pump shaft against the oil pump housing, causing oil to stop pumping through the engine.
