Yamaha V Star description

This is a 2005 V-Star 1100 Classic with only "15 miles" on the odometer.
Yes that is right, I said only "15 miles" on the Odometer.

Former owner purchased the bike brand new as a leftover in 2006, rode it home, dropped it on the right side (minimal damage to lower exhaust pipe and the end of the right throttle handle) and never rode it again (no damage to the gas tank fenders or side covers).

The GOOD:  Low miles, like new tires with no dry rot, like new brakes, like new seat.
Comes with a windshield and a sissy bar with back rest pad (both not shown in photos).
Front brake and clutch levers have been replaced with chrome ones.

The BAD:      It sat all those years and has some surface rust on some of the chrome parts.
The gas tank must be replaced, it has extensive rust inside. It needs a new battery.

I changed the fuel filter, put on a new fuel pump and hoses.
I have been able to get the engine to idle on only the rear cylinded using fresh gas, but it has not run (fired) on both cylinders yet.  Both carbs may need to be disassembled, cleaned and put back together.
I have a new oil filter for it but the oil has not been changed yet.

Title is in my friends name who owns the bike.
I am storing it for him at my house.

He does not have an Ebay account.

Joining them are 2012 AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike race winner, Cameron Beaubier, and 2012 AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport race winner, Garrett Gerloff, on their Yamaha Extended Service/Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha Daytona SportBike YZF-R6s. The four riders and their machines recently completed a photo session at Yamaha’s U.S.

Yamaha Pro Am madness, the best one make championship ever?

Sat, 18 Dec 2010

I’m biased of course, but the best one make road race championship has to be the Yamaha RD 350LC Pro Am series. Back in the days when manufacturers had spare cash (1980 to be precise), Mitsui Yamaha organised this televised championship at major British race meetings to promote the recently launched, and now iconic, Yamaha RD350LC. Twenty four riders (twelve established and twelve rookies) were chosen by a panel of experts then given a completely free season of racing with a very generous prize fund thrown in.

NHTSA Launches Recall Look-up by VIN Tool

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

The U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have launched a new free online tool that should make it easier for consumers to inspect their vehicles’ safety recall histories. The new search tool, available at http://www.safercar.gov/vinlookup, allows people to look for recall campaigns by entering Vehicle Identification Numbers.
