Yamaha YZ description

Up For auction here is a Very clean and 95% Original 89 YZ-490. My Brother in law bought this bike from a local Honda dealer way back in the mid 90s And did not put hardly any hours on it at all, Maybe 10 hours if that and always takes really good care of his bikes. He is for sure the second owner, Bike has a FMF Gold series pipe with a couple of small dents, and a Answer forestry approved spark arrester silencer, Rear fender is not original and neither are the handlebars, Frame was kinda touched up many years ago right were you legs rub, but other then a few small things the bike is Original, Suspension is Awesome and fully adjustable, Fires right up and runs and rides Perfect and does wheelies easily in 5th gear, Oh yea it is a 5-speed, These newer 490s are CR-500 Killers for sure as I have owned them all and the 490 out shines in every way!! Bonus you don't have to worry about poking a hole in your radiators, I really don't think you will find a nicer mostly original 89 YZ-490 anywhere, Tires are in great shape, Brake work really good, Has a couple repaired spots on the seat, Bike has clean title in hand! Buyer is responsible for shipping and or transportation, I think my reserve price is quite low considering what a nice bike this really is, For more info e-mail or call Dave at 541-935-3067. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Who To Watch In AMA Pro Superbike This Weekend

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

Photo: Brian J. Nelson Even though reigning AMA Pro Superbike champ Josh Herrin has left the series to try his hand in the Moto2 series, the Superbike field is still filled deep with talent heading into this weekend’s series opening round at Daytona. Here are just a few names to keep an eye on this weekend.

Third Annual ‘The MEET’ at ACM

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

More than 2,000 attendees visited America’s Car Museum for its 3rd annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival ‘The MEET’ last weekend in Tacoma, Washington, where over 300 motorcycles and scooters were showcased on the Haub Family Field at LeMay. The event drew pre-1981 motorcycles and scooters from the U.S. and Canada, including an antique motorcycle display, swap meet, cruise-in and a 78-mile roundtrip tour from ACM’s Anderson Plaza to Mt. Rainier.

Yamaha Champions Riding School August Update

Tue, 05 Aug 2014

Our friends at the Yamaha Champions Riding School have been busy lately. Since moving to New Jersey Motorsports park in April, traffic has steadily risen, with June being sold out and July not far behind. August is very promising with some new ideas (one-day clinics to bring a more economical program to a larger group of riders) being inserted into the mix as well as a normal two-day school at the end of the month, which is already 80% full thanks to the yearly visit from the engineering department of Harley Davidson. Following August YCRS will have two schools the week directly after the AMA Pro races at NJMP.
