Yamaha YZF-R description

super clean, well maintained, and great running 2001 Yamaha R1 with a low 13,500 miles. this is the last year of the carburetor bike, in this model, and it runs very strong. ridden by an older gentleman, so it was never beat on or dogged. the R1 is very clean, as the pictures tell, and has a few very nice options such as...wave rotors all the way around front and rear, custom undertail, custom rear seat cover, double bubble windshield, custom rear sets, custom adjustable clutch and brake levers, studded bolts throughout the front and the side fairings, and the highlight is a custom made, shorty exhaust, which is super loud, and tuned exactly to the bike. this bike looks awesome with its lowered stance, and ride great. bike has one flaw, which is simple, and already partially solved...it needs a new front tire. I have one I bought, but didn't get it installed, so it comes with the motorcycle. this bike is even wired for a battery tender, so plug in when not in use, and keep that battery fresh at all times. again, I can't stress enough how good this motorcycle looks, how good it starts and runs, and how great of mechanical shape it's in..no issues, no leaks, pretty much a great, low mile, bike for the year. any questions please email, or text @ 219-644-7518. bike is located in crown point, Indiana 46307 zip code. shipping costs will be covered by buyer if needed.

California Superbike School 2-day Camp at Silverstone

Mon, 24 May 2010

California Superbike School will be running a 2-day camp at Silverstone for the first time in the UK this August, offering riders a chance to enjoy extra track time while improving their skills in the art of cornering. Taking place on the all-new South circuit (1.9 miles long with 12 turns) students can ride their own bike or hire a fully prepared 2010 Yamaha R6 with the latest Dunlop Sportsmart tyres and fuel included. Already hugely popular with students returning year after year, previously the 2-day camps have been held in Spain during the spring.

Pikes Peak 87th Annual International Hill Climb [pics and video]

Fri, 15 May 2009

Named after a man by the name of Zebulon Pike, an explorer who led an expedition to the area in 1806, Pikes Peak is home to the second oldest motorsports race in America second only to the Indianapolis 500. First completed in 1916, this year marks the 87th running of the “Race to the Clouds.” If the math doesn’t add up, this is because there were several years that the event did not run over the course of its 93 year history. The 12.4 mile trek up the mountain consists of 156 treacherous turns to an elevation of 14,110 feet.
