Yamaha YZF-R description

This bike has 14,000 miles. It was in a minor accident resulting in cosmetic damage that has been 95% replaced - not repaired. (Smacked by a distracted driver on Auburn-Folsom road this past summer) The only issue is some scuffs and scratches. The bike has a clean title and comes with a report. I have changed the oil every 3k miles, just replaced the spark plugs 300 miles ago, new front tire 1000 miles ago, rear tire a month ago. 2500 miles ago I installed carbon fiber M4 exhaust system. In addition I have installed:
GTYR R1 grips
Graves bar ends
Speed Metal swing-arm sliders
clear flush mount side blinkers
custom led rear blinkers - one of a kind install.
Anodized aluminum roll-a-click clutch and break leavers
custom painted wheels, Sony HDR-AS1 action camera top clamp mounted
progrip tank protector
fender eliminator
Clean title in hand and register till Aug 17.

This bike has been babied and even with scratches gets attention and complements and is in brand new like shape. Its worth looking at. I am firm on the price and wont negotiate as I just dropped the price in order to purchase a home. The price is a steal and if you come and see the bike you will understand why. The pictures simply do not do the bike justice.

In addition to everything listed, I will also include a Shoei Helmet ( used maybe 3 times),front fork trackside stand.
For additional amount that we can barter on, I also have a new (purchased last month) Scorpion EXO 1200T with Scala Q3 intercom and an ICON textile jacket if your interested.

Mark Miller To Ride For Vercarmoto In 2014 TT Zero

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

After finishing in fifth place with Chris McGahan in the SES TT Zero in 2013, Italian based Team Vercarmoto, who made their debut in the event in 2012, has announced that American Mark Miller will ride for them in the 2014 race. American Miller is seen as a specialist in the category and boasts a respectable track record in the Isle of Man TT Zero class with the runner up position in 2011 and 3rd place in 2012 to go with his 2010 race victory. The American is also one of only three riders to break the prestigious 100mph mark around the iconic 37.73 mile TT Mountain Course on an electric bike, a feat he achieved in the 2012 race.

Kevin Ash, one year on

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

I’ve lost dozens of friends in bike racing over the years, and while each death was a shock and incredibly sad, I’ve always had some kind of internal coping mechanism that allowed me to carry on relatively unaffected.  Maybe it’s because I was always extremely passionate and committed when taking part in my dangerous sport so was also prepared to pay the ultimate price should things go wrong.  Rightly or wrongly I’ve taken comfort from the fact that these unfortunate racers have checked out while doing something they love.   I’ve also lost a few journalist friends in bike accidents over the years but for some reason these have hit me harder.  The worst and possibly as it is the most recent is Kevin Ash who was killed last January while on a BMW launch in South Africa.  Starting in 2001, over a period of ten years, I was in Kevin’s company on countless new bike launches in pretty much every corner of the world.  At times he was cocky and occasionally irritating but always entertaining with a wicked sense of humour.  He was many things but no one can deny he was a brilliant journalist and his technical knowledge was second to none.  I always appreciated his complete enthusiasm to all things biking as he would ride through any weather on a daily basis to jobs or airports and seemed to always be tinkering with winter projects (mainly Ducatis) at home.  I also admired how much work he got through as he had columns in more than one weekly publication plus all his launch and web work. He was a competent safe rider who was certainly quick enough to evaluate any new bike thrown his way.  Kevin also drove a Porsche but then none of us are perfect!   I looked to Kevin as a wise Owl so not long after I started working with TWO/ Visordown, I asked him on an R1 launch in Australia he thought the motorcycle industry was currently in a good place.  His reply was, ‘we’ve just been flown here business class, been taken by speed boat to our five star hotel under Sydney Harbour Bridge, Yamaha have wined and dined us and furnished us with expensive gifts each day, what do you think Niall?  How times have changed.  On the subject on air travel he once told me, ‘when travelling business or first class it’s not about the pampering, comfy beds or fine dining, the important part is looking smug as you walk straight past all the people lining up at the cattle class check in! On more than one occasion I had food or drink spurt out when Kevin would deliver unexpected one line funnies at the dinner table.
