This 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 is in excellent shape. It only has 7600 miles and rides and runs amazingly well. This bike has been inspected by us and is mechanically sound. Some of the things that have been changed since stock is the addition of HIDs and the shifting changed to Moto GP style (You shift down to upshift). This can be easily changed back without buying any other parts. The exhaust has been de-baffled. The stock front turn signals have been changed to sleeker turn signals and the bulbous tail lights in the back have been removed and integrated into the brake light. Video of the bike is below. The Pursuit of Yamaha-ness – A Message from Yamaha’s CEO
Thu, 10 Jan 2013Yamaha must “pursue true Yamaha-ness and break out of our old norms” if it hopes to increase profitability, says Hiroyuki Yanagi, the company’s president and chief executive officer. In an open letter released by Yamaha, Yanagi discussed what his company needed to do in order to reach its goal of producing 12 million units this year and collecting 2 trillion yen (US$22.5 billion) in sales. Yanagi’s message offered little in specific details but provided a glimpse of Yamaha’s overall strategy for the next few years.
Jeremy Burgess Out and Silvano Galbusera In as Valentino Rossi’s Crew Chief
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Valentino Rossi has parted ways with longtime crew chief Jeremey Burgess, ending a partnership that extended across 14 years and three different manufacturers while capturing seven MotoGP and 500cc Grand Prix World Championships. Burgess will be replaced by Louis CK lookalike Silvano Galbusera, a veteran crew chief and mechanic whose most extensive experience comes from World Superbike and Supersport racing. As crew chief and/or technical director, Galbusera has worked with an impressive roster of riders including Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Cal Crutchlow and Ben Spies.
