2012 Honda CBR1000RR Leaked

Thu, 18 Aug 2011

Pictures of the 2012 Honda CBR1000RR have leaked from a distributor in Hong Kong, revealing some updates including a Showa Big Piston Fork, updated display and styling facelifts.

The photos show the new Honda Fireblade (as it’s known in other markets) in HRC tri-color trim which, judging from color options offered on other recent Honda models, won’t be available in the U.S. 2012 also marks the 20th year of the RR so an special anniversary paint scheme might be offered.

Official specs won’t be available until Honda is good and ready to reveal them, so it’s unknown what updates have been made to the engine.

The most significant update looks to be with the suspension, with the Showa BPF replacing the HMAS cartridge fork while the rear shock also appears to be new. The headlights are a noticeably sleeker shape than the lights on the 2011 model. The wheels are also new, while the tail and bellypan also receive minor updates. Also new is the all-digital display with a bar-style tachometer and gear indicator.
