A 2010 Brammo!!! Our first electric powered motorcycle. All right then, I am the most prejudiced motorcycle rider in the world. I hate Electric Motorcycles, they were to me everything anti-“The real motorcycle experience” I could imagine. How soulless, how boring. I would sooner be seen riding a Honda Pacific Coast in a matching leisure suit.

So, what happened? I rode the Enertia. Oh damn, it was fun. It felt just riding a Dual Sport 250, no huge weight hung high up, very little Gyroscopic sensation from the running gear and lane splitting in downtown Grants Pass was a kick. It is so narrow, instant response from twisting the throttle and once I changed the air pressure in the front tire from 8 pounds to 30, it was hoot out on Highland headed to Rogue River. But none of that was the eye opener I got as a gift from the heavens. IT RAINED, not just a rain, it poured. A regular Summer Squall. I was expecting to feel Jolts of Electricity jump through my arms, but not a thing. What was very reassuring was the ability to dial the exact amount of drive to the rear tire in what was very greasy conditions. I came back looking like a drowned rat, Paul thought it was the funniest thing he has seen all year.

Range is going to be an issue. My guestimate is that with my very large weight and the way I was riding the bike, it would need a charged in about 30 miles. I was not being easy on it, mostly pinned. I sat down to write the description and thinking about it, how long is my normal commute? It takes 3 hours to charge a completely dead system. Get to work, plug it in and ride home with no worries. OK, I can live with that. How much is it going to save me in dollars and how much fun was it? The answers are obvious to me even if I do not know exactly what the electric charging will be exactly. Hmmm, this maybe a keeper…. but we all know the answer to that inevitable question, I have to sell it, else wise I would need another garage and building.

The bike has about 45 miles on it. 45 miles. It was bought new and because of the huge number of bikes sharing it’s life space, it did not get used. the bike is being sold with an MSO (Manufacture Statement of Origin) and the warranty is still in place until August 2014. The selling price in 2010 was $7995.
