Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. 2014 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 Available Now with ABS

Aprilia USA announced the 2014 edition of the Dorsoduro 750 is now available at dealerships nationwide, now with the addition of anti-lock brake technology as standard equipment. The 2014 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 uses a dual-channel ABS from Continental. According to Aprilia, the system monitors the speed of both wheels and separately controls the braking for both the front and the rear.

FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
