Based on the Multistrada 1100, the 1100 S features a number of advanced components including fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension and carbon fiber highlights. The 1100 S features a carbon fiber front mudguard, carbon fiber cam belt covers, variable-section alloy handlebars fitted with vibration isolator mounts, and a Superbike derived Öhlins suspension. The combination of a versatile trellis frame and high performance suspension components provides true Superbike performance capable of lightning-quick cornering and extreme riding precision. 43 millimeter Öhlins forks with low friction TiN fork sliders are complemented by a fully adjustable Öhlins rear shock with remote preload adjustment to ensure road holding reminiscent of a Superbike.

Current Ducati CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio, is leaving the company to take up new professional challenges. Replacing him is Ducati General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors at Ducati Motor Holding, Claudio Domenicali. Domenicali joined Ducati as a project leader in 1991.

Casey Stoner to Retire After 2012 MotoGP Season

Two-time MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner has announced he will retire following the end of the 2012 season. Rumors of Stoner’s impending retirement plans have been floating around for weeks with the 26-year-old Repsol Honda racer saying he will continue racing until he no longer enjoyed it. That seems to be the case now as the 2007 and 2011 MotoGP Champion announced he will retire at a press conference ahead of this weekend’s French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
