Ducati Traction Control (DTC): An integral part of the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP), the Ducati Traction Control system can be adjusted to eight levels (four of which are integrated in the Riding Modes). It processes the inputs from the wheel speed sensors to control rear wheel slip, significantly improving performance and active safety. The system installed on the new Multistrada 1200 is re-tuned for a smoother intervention of the system, which now gives a higher priority to ignition delay. In case of wheel-spin, the system reacts by delaying the ignition, up to a 60% torque reduction request. For higher torque reduction requests the injection is cut off. Each pre-set DTC level associated with the different Riding Modes can be customised by the rider and stored from the setup menu. Ducati Safety Pack (DSP): The Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) is offered standard throughout the new Multistrada 1200 range, giving evidence of how Ducati gives top priority to road safety. Collector’s Item: Ducati Diavel AMG, the Mercedes-badged Audi
Thu, 19 Apr 2012As expected, Mercedes-Benz’s performance division AMG announced it is cutting ties with Ducati following the motorcycle manufacturer’s acquisition by rival car-maker Audi. AMG released a brief statement saying, explaining the split and saying it we never in the running to purchase Ducati: “Since the end of 2010 a successful marketing cooperation has existed between AMG and Ducati. The company takeover by a rival car manufacturer has understandably resulted in the end of any further collaboration.

Report: Ducati Sold to Audi for US$1.13 Billion
Tue, 17 Apr 2012Reuters is reporting Audi has reached a deal with Investindustrial to acquire Ducati for a price of 860 million euros (US$1.13 billion). Citing two unnamed sources familiar with the deal, Reuters reports the purchase price includes Ducati‘s debts, estimated by one of those sources at below 200 million euros (US$262.6 million). As previously reported, the deal will be officially announced April 18, ahead of the annual shareholders meeting for Audi’s parent company, the Volkswagen Group.
