Harley-Davidson Touring description

THIS IS ONE BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL  & CLEAN 1966 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLH. THIS IS A "FULL DRESSER" THIS WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THE "SHOVEL HEAD". HARLEY DAVIDSON USED THE "PAN HEAD" CRANK CASE,THEN INSTALLED THE "SHOVEL HEAD" HEADS. WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO GIVE IT AN ADDITIONAL 5 HP .IT CAME FROM CALIFORNIA. I BOUGHT IT IN SEPTEMBER 2004. I HAD IT DISASSEMBLED AND PAINTED BY A MAN THAT PAINTS FOR HARLEY DEALERS AND THE MUSEUM IN YORK, PENNSYLVSNIA SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT IT. IT HAD BEEN COMPLETELY MECHANICALLY CHECKED OVER. THE ENGINE & TRANSMISSION WAS NEVER TOUCHED. THE CHROME HAS ALL BEEN RECHROMED OR REPLACED. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL MOTORCYCLE THAT IS PROBABLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ON "eBay". (SEE PICTURES). I DON'T BELIEVE YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. I INVITE ALL INSPECTIONS !.  IT SHOULD BE IN A DEALERS SHOW ROOM OR A MUSEUM I THINK.  WHEN I BOUGHT IT, IT HAD TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND (27,000) MILES ON IT. I SENT THE SPEEDOMETER AWAY TO HAVE IT CLEANED AND LUBRICATED. WHEN I GOT IT BACK THE MAN HAD RESET THE ODOMETER BACK TO "0000". SINCE SEPTEMBER 2004 I HAVE ONLY PUT ON IT SEVEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FOUR MILES (734 MILES). YES YOU HAVE READ THAT RIGHT !.. THE REASON IS THAT SHORTLY AFTER, I HAD OPEN HEART SURGERY TO REPLACE A VALVE WITH A PLASTIC ONE. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME TO NEVER RIDE A MOTORCYCLE AGAIN , BECAUSE I HAVE TO TAKE "WARFARIN" (BLOOD THINNER PLUS 17 OTHER MEDICAL PILLS. HE TOLD ME "IF YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT, YOU ARE PROBABLY GOING TO BLEED TO DEATH". SO THAT'S THE REASON FOR SUCH LOW MILLAGE  ALSO TO MY SURPRISE WHEN I OPENED THE RIGHT SADDLE BAG. IT. HAS AN AUTOGRAPH OF "ELVIS" DATED 6/16/1966 ( I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THIS IS AUTHENTIC ON THE INSIDE LID  (SEE PICTURE) .IT ALSO CAME WITH A PICTURE OF "ELVIS" AND "DEBROAL  WALLEY" SITTING ON A 1966 HARLEY IN AN ENVELOPE THEY BOTH STARRED IN A MOVIE CALLED "SPINOUT" IN 1966 . ALSO IT HAS AN "ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL THAT WAS IN A PLASTIC BAG IN THE SADDLE BAGS. I HOPE WHO EVER GETS THIS BEAUTIFUL  HARLEY THAT THEY TAKE CARE OF IT AS I HAVE AND DON'T CHOP IT UP OR SELL PARTS FROM IT !...BELIEVE ME, IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SELL IT, BUT I HAVE A FEW OLD "THUNDERBIRDS" TO KEEP ME BUSY. THE HARLEY MOTORCYCLE GETS IN THE WAY. I HAVE TO CALL ON THE NEIGHBOR EVERY TIME I HAVE TO MOVE IT. MY STRENGTH IS WEAK AT 78 YEARS OF AGE. SO I HAVE TO "GIVE UP THE GHOST" AS THE SAYING GOES
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOD BLESS,
JOHN

Harley-Davidson Denies Plans for Small-Displacement Model for India

Fri, 18 May 2012

India’s 13-million-unit-per-year motorcycle market is comprised of mostly small-displacement models, so it sounds odd at first when manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and Triumph enter the market with their larger-displacment models. The question quickly arises as to whether they will stick with their existing big-bore models or introduce an all-new, small-capacity model for the Indian market. Manufacturers like the Big Four from Japan already produce smaller models for other markets so it’s a relatively easy task for them to introduce new models such as Honda‘s recently launched 109cc Dream Yuga.
