 1979 Honda CBX We are selling this for a collector who has consigned many motorcycles with us. His stuff is always top notch. Here is his description, we have looked the bike over and we agree with his description. TIM's paint for tank, tail and fender. Factory correct by the best Honda restoration shop in the country. Candy Red. Looks absolutely fantastic! New badges Incredibly rare NOS Honda brand exhaust. Not a reproduction. Beautiful with some bluing near engine. Battery Tender wired connection Always serviced by previous owner Great Bridgestone tires All receipts New fuel valve New battery Both original keys Includes1979 Michigan Plate (not originally on this bike). This is a beautiful survivor. And it looks fantastic! It has not been restored, it is just that clean. This is an extremely clean original engine. If you want to polish it, you've got a great starting point. If not, there nothing to do to the bike except ride it. It's been ridden locally to keep the fluids moving. It fires right up. Sounds great under the NOS Honda exhaust. You cannot find these anymore Everything on this bike is very, very clean and looks terrific. And as they always say with increasing prices on things, you are only original once. I know it's been repainted but this is a very original survivor. Runs and rides great, ready to enjoy! Having a Randy Mamola moment
Thu, 10 May 2012Back in 1985 Randy Mamola was captured on film performing the most miraculous save of all time, hanging on for dear life as his Honda NSR500 tried to fling him from his seat. Recently, we've seen some impromptu homages to the original with Jonathan Rea at Assen and the near-save from Jakub Kornfeil in the Moto3 race at Jerez. Now we have on-board footage of American racer Genki Hagata calming a high-side at the Infineon Raceway in California.

Tue, 11 Sep 2012From American Honda: Torrance, CA: American Honda announces that effective October 1, 2012, Senior Vice President of the Motorcycle Division Ray Blank will retire. Robert Gurga has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Motorcycle Division. “After nearly 30 years with the Motorcycle Division, I have made the decision to step down,” said Blank.
