Honda ST1100 description

Up for sale is a beautiful 1993 Honda ST1100 with only 22,259 miles.

I've installed a tall Clearview shield, a pair of handguards, added a Givi trunk, and a pair of Fox handlebar risers. The handguards have to trimmed as they hit the clearview shield when turning lock to lock and they partially block the mirrors. I put them on to keep block the wind. You can always removed them.

It has a Sony XM 20-2022 two channel amplifier under the seat and two new Blaupunk 50 watt speakers in the fairing. The speakers are overpowered by the amplifier but you can adjust the output down. It is currently adjusted to work with a IPhone. On the left side of the fairing is an indicator light and a rocker switch to turn it on and off in traffic.

Mounted above the speedometer display is a clock with battery indicator. There is a also a phone jack on the left side of the body panels just in front of the passenger seat that is hooked up to the battery. The phone connector and the part that goes to the battery tender is included. I am not including the battery tender. It works well to keep the battery charged.

It will come with a cover, the original owners manual, the workshop manual, a tank bag (not used on this bike), the original windshield and the original handlebar cover. I'll also provide extra parts that I have kicking around (2 oil filters, a bottle of Honda coolant, and a single set of brake pads).

It's always been garaged and has been a one family bike. This bike has low miles, good tires, and runs great. It just is ridden anymore and it's unfortunately time for it to go.

As for payment, will accept Paypal, certified check or cash. The buyer is responsible for shipping, however I'll deliver/ride it within 100 miles.

I've have a couple of videos that I just took of the bike running and to show the condition. You can find them at: https://youtu.be/IW3pgXozOPw

Thanks for Looking!

How do 1000s compare to the 800s

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

Now MotoGP has completed its transformation from 800 to 1000cc, how do the lap times between the different bikes compare using Valencia and the post-season test as a benchmark.. Yesterday, Dani Pedrosa was the quickest 1000 on his Honda RC213V setting a time of 1:32.186. To find the quickest time from the outgoing 800 era you have to look at his current Repsol Honda team-mate, Casey Stoner, but it wasn't set on a Honda.

Honda Gold Wing Brake Recall – Round 2

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

While Honda has never seemed like a company to follow the old saw “We do it right because we do it twice,” the company has just announced a second recall of 126,000 GL 1800 and GL 1800A models to address a dragging rear brake problem that is serious enough to potentially cause a fire. We feel comfortable saying that this is certainly not the type of heated seats Gold Wing riders would want to have. The affected models come from a variety of years.

A Weighty Issue

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
