MV Agusta Returning to WSBK Competition with F4 RR

MV Agusta announced its return to the World Superbike Championship, teaming up with Russian race team Yakhnich Motorsport. The Italian manufacturer returned to the international racing scene this past season, working with ParkinGo to field the F3 675 in the Supersport class. For 2014, MV Agusta will work with Yakhnich and enter the F4 RR in the Superbike class and the F3 in Supersport.

EICMA 2013: 2014 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Revealed

MV Agusta opened the 2013 EICMA show with the official reveal of its new 2014 Turismo Veloce 800 adventure-styled sport-tourer. MV Agusta will produce two versions, the base model and the Lusso (Italian for “Luxury”) which adds panniers, heated grips, semi-active suspension and GPS navigation. MV Agusta released a video teasing its upcoming Turismo Veloce 800 – though perhaps “teaser” isn’t the best word for it, considering how much it reveals about new adventure-style sport-tourer. While the video doesn’t show the full motorcycle in its entirety, it shows enough close-up images of the 2014 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 to give us a good enough idea of how it looks. MV Agusta announced it would unveil a new sport-touring model at the 2013 EICMA show in Milan. No official details were provided, only the name, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800, though that itself gives us a good idea of what to expect. “Turismo Veloce” translates loosely to “fast touring”, hence the assumption it will be a sport-touring model.

MV Agusta has revealed a new one-off special edition model by Italian architect and designer Simone D’Auria called the Brutale California. Based on a 2012 MV Agusta Brutale 1090 R, the California model is clad in carbon fiber with D’Auria’s signature timber-inspired wood pattern, a style he calls “Wood Vibrations“. This isn’t the first time D’Auria has designed a wood-inspired carbon-fiber Brutale California for MV Agusta.

2014 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster Receives EPA and CARB Certification

Certification documents from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board reveal a new MV Agusta model to be called the Brutale 800 Dragster is on its way for the 2014 model year. The new Brutale 800 Dragster name first popped up in EPA on-highway motorcycle test data back in July alongside the Brutale 800 and Brutale 675.

Limited Edition MV Agusta Brutale Corsa Announced

MV Agusta is adding another variant to its four-cylinder 1078cc Brutale lineup. Alongside the Brutale 1090, 1090 R and 1090 RR, MV Agusta will offer the new limited edition Brutale Corsa (and no, we’re pretty sure they didn’t at any point consider calling it the 1090 RRR. We’re pretty sure.) The Brutale Corsa shares the same 1078cc 16-valve four-cylinder engine as the 1090 models.

MV Agusta announced a change in its executive as the company considers going public with an initial public offering. The Italian manufacturer introduced Giorgio Girelli as its new executive vice president. Girelli’s appointment comes a day after CycleWorld reports MV Agusta has opted not to renew the contract of Chief Executive Officer Massimo Bordi.

We had expected the Rivale 800 to be our next MV Agusta appointment, but instead they pushed forward the F3 800′s launch at Misano. After having tested the Brutale 800, this was a mouth-watering prospect. The three-cylinder MV Agusta range now consists of four models (F3 and Brutale in 675cc and 800cc) plus the upcoming 800cc Rivale, helping the Schiranna factory offer its most extensive lineup ever.
