Pro Street Pro Street description

You are bidding on the Legendary Half N Half No Down Tube Pro Street Custom that was built by Russell Marlowe Custom Cycles back in 2005 for the first annual Heritage Rally $100,000 Build Off. This is the Bike that won the Build Off that year and made it one of the most popular bikes in the country for the next few years. The bike was toured around the country on the Easyriders show tour for the next year after the Build Off, it was featured in Hot Bike Magazine and was up for Easyriders bike of the year only to fall short to Billy Lanes Hubless Chopper due to the fact that Hot Bike did a feature on it before Easyriders could. It was featured in several other publications national and international, it also placed 5th in the AMD World final in Sturgis in 2005 out of over 250 other bikes from around the world. The bike has around 300 miles on it, the last time it was ridden by Russell was in May of 2008 during a Benefit poker run featuring 12 top Celebrity builders in the country during Myrtle Beach Bike Week being ridden about 100 miles round trip, it also had to be ridden 100 miles during the Heritage Rally Build Off as part of the rules, the bike had to make the 100 mile ride without issues to qualify for the top prize, it was one of 5 bikes to make it back without breaking down or major issues, this bike had none. I have put around 100 miles on it since I finished it up. After Russell was forced to close the doors at RMCC in November of 2008 due to the failed economy Russell was forced to sell the bike. It was sold to a very close friend of mine in January of 2009 who really had no interest in Motorcycles and he passed away in a car wreck in February of 2009. The bike sat up from 2009 till March of 2016 in a climate controlled warehouse behind his auto parts store and as a former employee of RMCC I was asked by his father to take the bike make a few changes, get it back running and put it up for sale. I have done just that, the bike is now rider friendly and running like a top. Before I got my hands back on the bike it was set up for show with a twist clutch and internal throttle making it very difficult for the average unexperienced person to ride also had mid controls and Billet 4 U open belt primary making it almost impossible for someone of average height to ride. I am 6'1" and I could not comfortably ride it with the mid controls and the bike being almost 10' long did not help being set up like this. I built a new set of handlebars and the twist clutch and internal throttle was replaced with Performance Machine hand controls with a regular throttle set up and Hydraulic clutch. I also did away with the PM mid controls and made a set of foot controls from a PM master cylinder and Euro Component forward controls and hand machined the brackets and had them Chrome plated. The Billet 4 U primary was also sold and replaced with a factory Chrome HD enclosed primary with a Rekluse torque clutch pack. The bike is now set up so the average rider can handle it, the bike is still long and low and would take some getting used to but is more rider friendly than it has ever been. This bike is solid, balanced perfect, the frame has no flex what so ever and you can ride it 70 mph and take your hands off the bars and ride it straight as an arrow. This was 1 of the 2 no down tube bikes that we built and both bikes were as solid as you could ask for with no issues. The only Imperfections in the chrome is on the top of the taillight, a spot about the size of a pea where chrome has come off and there is a spot on the left hand side at the swing arm pivot bolt caps where a chip of paint was knocked off. Other than that the Chrome and Paint are in Great Condition.

The specs on the bike are as followed:

Motor: Patrick Racing 113 ci with round cylinders with manual compression releases. This is the 2nd round cylinder 113 that Nigel Patrick ever made, he kept the first one for himself. PR was our motor of choice!

I have had questions from people about putting and open belt primary back on the bike, this can be done but it would take a good bit of work due to the fact that a custom bracket would have to be made for the foot peg and shifter and would have to be welded or bolted to the backing plate. I would do this at the buyers expense, buyer would have to buy primary of their choice and pay for labor to install with rate at $60 an hour. The bike is still cool as hell without an open primary!

This bike in my Opinion and many others would be considered a collectors bike at this point. We only built a hand full of bikes a year at RMCC and you don't see Russell's bikes come up for sale hardly ever and when one does it goes for a hefty price! This was a true $100,000 hand crafted Bike and if it would have been sold back then it would have went for over that figure but this was Russell's personal bike and he unwisely turned down several great offers for it back in the day. I know better than anyone what it took to build this beast, lots of man hours, beer, blood, sweat, arguments & tears!

Please Note: This Bike has never been titled, you will receive the necessary paperwork and MSO's to title the bike in your name & state. The bike is fully insurable, I have insurance on it now from Foremost and it is less than $900 a year.

The bike will be sold at a fraction of it's original value, we know that the bike is now 11 years old but it is what it is, a very unique one off custom that was built by one of the top builders in the country at the time of its origin! Anyone is welcome to call me to talk about the bike, I can answer any questions you may have concerning the build process, parts/components or price. I can have the bike shipped anywhere in the lower 48 states at buyers expense by Keyboard Motorcycle Shippers. This is the Co that we used to ship customer bikes, several from SC to CA at very reasonable prices. I shipped my custom 30" Road King to CA 6 moths ago using them and buyer paid $950.
