Triumph Tiger description

2009 Triumph Tiger ABS, VERY CLEAN - Tiger It commutes. It tours. It scratches. Take one look and its clear the Tiger is built to perform in more ways than one. It will scratch, tour and commute. Powered by a torquey 1,050 cubic centimeter triple cylinder engine with an infectious sound and feel, it boasts the performance specification of a sports bike: braced swing arm, fully adjustable Showa USD forks, remote spring preload and rebound damping adjustable Showa rear monoshock, twin floating front discs with four-piston radial callipers and 17 inch wheels with 120 / 180 profile sports tires. Usability has always been a key benefit of all Triumph motorcycles and the Tiger retains this no matter what type of journey. Theres no adventure too demanding. A commanding view from the upright riding position makes overtaking and filtering easy through rush hour traffic. The muscular triple with powerful brakes and sporty chassis make carving through the twisties a real pleasure. And for the long haul the ergonomically designed seat with screen and fairing ensures comfort and control regardless of distance. A 5.2 gallon fuel tank and optional ABS add to the practicality.

According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the two layers used in the construction of the fuel tank may not properly adhere to each other, resulting in a potential fuel leak.

Things are coming along nicely in the Speed Triple camp. I’ve finally removed my gaffa tapped heated jacket controls from the tank, and fitted a pair of Bridgestones sticky but durable BT-16’s. Last week a huge box full of R&G crash protection stuff arrived so that will be fitted at the weekend for peace of mind, just as well really because the Triumph now feels like a finely tuned scratcher thanks to a recent new discovery.

Triumph Street Triple Used to Test Rocket Components – Video

Fri, 04 May 2012

California-based aerospace company XCOR is using a Triumph Street Triple to test rocket components for a suborbital spacecraft. Of course, what immediately comes to mind is a giant rocket strapped on to the Triumph, but the truth is much less dramatic, yet still fascinating. XCOR is using the Street Triple for endurance testing of bearings components for the rocket propellant piston pump of the Lynx suborbital spacecraft.
