Police Catch Up with Motorcycle Doing 185 mph in YouTube Video

Authorities in British Columbia, Canada, have impounded a 2006 Yamaha R1 believed to have starred in a YouTube video reaching speeds of 299 kph (185 mph) on a freeway. The onboard video, embedded after the jump, captures the Yamaha weaving through traffic, and often lane-splitting between other vehicles, covering a 4.67 mile stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway in about a minute and 56 seconds. That translates to an average speed of 144.6 mph.

Yamaha Releases Tricity Three-Wheel Scooter In Thailand

Yamaha has officially released the much anticipated Tricity three-wheeler in the Thai market. Billed as the first Yamaha production vehicle that “represents our long-term vision of a ‘growing world of personal mobility,’” the Tricity is a world model, manufactured in Thailand, with plans for sales to begin in Europe and Japan by the end of 2014. Yamaha revealed a new ethanol-powered dual-sport for the Brazilian market called the XTZ150S Crosser BlueFlex. Designed specifically for Brazil, the Crosser 150 is Yamaha’s latest ethanol fuel model, sharing the same engine as the Fazer 150 BlueFlex. The engine is a 149cc single-cylinder engine with the second-generation version of Yamaha’s BlueFlex system, allowing it to run on gasoline or ethanol.
