This bike has been raced in the Grand Prix open & 50+ classes in AHRMA events over the last few years. The motor got new crank seals in 2012, new heavier shock spring, heavier fork springs, and fork seals last year. This year it got new chain & sprockets and the new rear tire. The bike has a DG pipe & silencer (I have a stock pipe) and Boysen reeds. Overall the bike is in very good shape for being 37 years old. Let me know if you have any questions. Here is the story on this bike: I’m 62 years old. I retired from my job a few years ago. I thought that I might try a little post-vintage racing. My wife and I recently went to a race and, while we were watching, we saw a +70 rider take a dirt nap in the first turn. My wife turned to me and said, “See that! You always used to land on your head when you crashed. I think you’ve had enough concussions from the last time you tried motorcycle racing.” To which I replied, “What’s your name, again?” (True story) So, here is my would-be post-vintage racer for sale. It is a 1979 YZ 250. I have owned this bike for a number of years, and only ridden up and down my driveway a couple of times (Making the video made three times.). I put a new piston and ring in it when I got it, and replaced a lot of parts. It has been sitting in my garage since then. Here is a partial list of the new parts: New Fork Seals, New Fork Wipers, New Front Tire, New Front Fender, New Pro Taper Handlebars, New Front Brake Cable, New Throttle Cable, New Clutch Cable, New Front Brake Lever, New Clutch Lever, New Grips, New Piston and Rings (less than an hour on the new top end), New Front Number Plate, New Side Panels, New Rear Fender, New Rear Tire, New Air Filter, New Wide Footpegs. The frame and cases were painted with automotive urethane based paint (it won’t peel off when gas is spilled on it). Hubs were painted with black enamel. The bike also has an after-market pipe, and a period correct DG silencer. The wheels are in good condition as is the suspension. The graphic on the tank is probably as old as the bike and has more wear and ripples than are evident in the photos. The bike is fast (too fast for me), and ready to race. As with most bikes this age, there is no title--Bill of Sale only. Although I have tried to accurately represent this motorcycle, it is almost 40 years old, and I make no guarantees as to performance or durability. This 2002 Yamaha YZ250 2 Stroke is a great running bike I had just rebuilt the top and bottom end of the motor including renicaling the jug at Millenium in Wisconsin. The whole bottom end case got shot peened and reassembled with all new o-rings gaskets and bearings while the top got renicacilled with new rings, piston, wrist pin bearing, seals, powervalve springs, and so fourth. The motor currently has only 10-15 hours on it 15 being tops.

Would you like to scare the you know what out of your friends? Just show up at the next vintage race with this in the back of your truck. This motorcycle was taken down to bare frame and put back together with over $1000.00 worth of new parts, then never ridden. The owner was a Pro rider that restored it so he could race it in some vintage motorcross races by his home. He has been racing since he was a die and id a great job of putting the bike back to the way it should be. he only told me that he had to grant children that were unexpectedly going to be moving in with him and he could no long keep the bike. I did not ask why. Felt bad for the guy. he put a lot of time and money into the YZ and never got to enjoy it. I'm not going to try and sell you on this bike. The person who buys this motorcycle should know what they are buying. probably one of the fastest 2 stock motorcross racing bikes ever made. hopefully it will just go into someones vintage collection. I think you can see by the pictures how nice it is. Bike is in CA but has an AZ title.

The Honda PCX150 may be getting some new competition, as the California Air Resource Board granted an executive order certifying the 155cc Yamaha XC155 scooter. Available in Asian markets last August under the names Majesty S and SMax. Sporting a fuel-injected 155cc liquid-cooled four-valve Single, the XC155 inherits the styling of larger Yamaha scooters including the 395cc Majesty that was part of the company’s U.S.
