HARLEY DAVIDSON 1947UL RESTORED FLATHEAD WITH SOUTH CAROLINA TITLE. This is a very nice 1947ul that was restored from a complete and running motorcycle. The motor and transmission have been completely rebuilt. It comes with a South Carolina Title. This cycle runs great and has apx 1000 miles on it since the restoration around 4 years ago. All fenders and tanks are original Harley Davidson. The speedo is 1947 and was not reconditioned because it was so nice. The inside of the tanks look good. The only after market parts i see are the muffler, pipes, wiring harness, cables, kicker pedal, tires and mud flap but I may have missed something. The color is Skyway Blue. It has a real solo seat that was done by Worsham Castle Leather. It has new GoodYear Super Eagle style tires. The correct 1947 speedo shows 25, 475 miles. It is the correct 6 volt system with a rebuilt 4 speed transmission. The frame is the correct Bull Neck style. The rims are original Harley Davidson laced with new cadmium plated spokes. Even the tool box is original Harley Davidson. The springer front end is the correct offset. The throttle and spark advance work very freely. The carburetor is the correct Linkert M-51 and was rebuilt. The gas tanks are the correct side valve - Flathead style. Once again the cycle was restored from a complete, original motorcycle. HARLEY DAVIDSON 1949FL PANHEAD CHOPPER/BOBBER. This is a very nicely done 1949FL Panhead Chopper. The motorcycle runs great. The frame is a real Harley Davidson Bowleg Panhead Frame. The Carburetor is a Shorty E, S & S with a Harley Davidson Air Cleaner. The left case has had some repair underneath and it appears to be a good job. The belly numbers on that side are partially gone because of the repair but the first and last numbers are readable and match the right side. The motorcycle has a 12 volt Cycle Electric Generator. It has a suicide clutch with a Rachet Top. The Sportster Tank is metal and looks good inside. The springer has some pitting (see pictures) and the front brake does work. It has an Auto Advance Distributor and comes with a stock Harley Davidson Oil Pump. The paint is very nice and the seat is fabulous. This motorcycle cranks, shifts and runs great. It has some very rare steel mag wheels. It comes with a South Carolina Title. It has a very low reserve. The front wheel is a 21" and the rear is a 16" wheel. Harley Davidson / 1951 Hydraglide ! (1951)
Up for your consideration is this "one of a kind" 1951 Harley Davidson Hydraglide with tank shift / foot clutch. I found this bike back in 2004 sitting in a garage in Belen, New Mexico. The last time it had seen daylight was 18 years prior to that. It was love at first site although it certainly did not look anything like it does now. After an eight year restoration process the bike was finally ready to ride in March of 2012. The engine & transmission have been completely overhauled. The leather work which was done by a good friend in Albuquerque was completed utilizing the original seat pans and the original frames for the saddle bags. The paint work was done by another friend in Albuquerque (where I resided at the time) as well. It is a gorgeous copper and cream combo that has a touch of glitter in it when the sun hits it right. I've had this bike over to Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley, NC where Dale Walksler (the curator / owner ) fell in love with it as well. He has driven the bike and proclaimed it period correct in many ways and he was very impressed at how well it runs. The actual mechanical work & assembly was done by James Yeager aka Opie of Rougemont , NC. Opie works on many older Harleys and has built them from the ground up. If you are a lover of the older antique Harleys, this would be a perfect edition to your collection. I have both seats although the "two up" is what is on the bike and in the pictures. The engraving on the seats is to honor "The Sixth Armored Division" which fought under Patton's Third Army in WW II . It was my father's division. The tank design is not indicitive of 1951, but rather it is a 1956 design although the emblems ARE "51". I did this as I thought it was a unique tank design and I just liked it. The horn is also not perioud correct. I believe they started using them in 53 or 54. Again, I just wanted it on there. To the winner of this auction: Shipping is of course your responsibility or you may pick the bike up here in NC if you so choose. All of the info supplied is correct to the best of my knowledge as well. I am turning 65 this year and although I would love to keep this piece of Harley history, I simply need to ride something a bit more modern. Nice Harley Sprint with original paint, complete with no missing parts- I have had this for eight years or so, and have run in 10 MotoGiro events. The bike got a fresh top end about 5000 miles back and has been a strong runner ever since. I also installed a PowerDynamo ignition/alternator last year. With this arrangement the bike idles and runs perfectly, while producing 12 volts of reliable power. This is the model with the more collectable engine and body work. Although Harley sold quite a few of these, it is rare to find one in this condition. It even has the correct Delorto Carburetor The BAD - Bike has a motor from 1964- I am also including a 1966 engine /transmission unit, (no top end) as well as all parts to replace the original generator, coil and points. I will supply owners and shop manuals as well. If you have the bike shipped I will crate the loose parts, which will need to be shipped separately. I am selling this because my 65 year old knees are not able to kick start these old bikes- I require a deposit of $250 in my paypal account within 48 hours of the end of this auction, with full payment in 7 days. Harley-Davidson Financial Services to Refund $228,000 in Settlement
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Harley-Davidson Financial Services agreed to reimburse more than 600 customers in Massachusetts a total of $228,000 to resolve a dispute over refunding enrollment fees on loans. Customers receiving financing occasionally pay optional enrollment fees for additional special loan terms. If a customer pays off its financing loan ahead of schedule, they may be entitled to a pro-rated refund on those enrollment fees.
