TypeType:Motocross Bike

Honda CR description

Up for sale is my very clean and mostly all original 1990 Honda CR125 Motocross bike.

I am the second owner of this bike. Previous and original owner was a family that rode this bike in the desert. This was "moms bike", hence why it shows such low hours.  It is nearly 100% stock and still has all the OEM plastic, nuts and bolts.  Finding older 125cc dirt bikes in this lightly ridden and mostly all stock condition is very difficult, and this bike would make a great platform for a vintage racer or a full frame off resto. It would not take much to make this bike very nice.

Condition notes and description:
  • Title in hand
  • It does have low compression and would benefit/needs a top end rebuild.
  • Original seat cover in decent shape for its age. Has one TINY pin hole, see pics.
  • Air filter is shot (hence the reason for the above note)
  • Rear tire should be replaced
  • Front tire is original (I think)
  • Plastics in great shape. Rear fender had a big sticker on it and I peeled it off. It left behind some goop, but I will try to remove it.
  • Newer Renthal bars are in great shape
  • All pegs and levers are straight and show no major signs of crash damage
  • Clutch perch and lever are made by ASV
  • FMF pipe has a dent in it. Should be easy enough to pop out
  • Vintage Answer SA2 silencer with Spark Arrestor
  • Chain and sprockets are in good shape and have plenty of life left to go

Overall, this is a clean low hour 125cc dirt bike.

Needs some small things, but would not take much to make this into an awesome resto project or a fearsome vintage 125cc racer!

I can ship anywhere in the USA for $425 enclosed and insured.  South Florida and Long Island might be a little more, but I can work with you on shipping. Or organize your own shipping.

The boring stuff (but please read):
Shipping: I can assist with shipping or you are free to organize your own. I can currently ship insured (with a $500 deductible) and enclosed anywhere in the USA for $450. If you live in Maine, Long Island or the Florida keys there is a surcharge, but outside of that, the shipping rate is $450 to anywhere in the lower 48.

I can and will ship international, but the buyer must coordinate this, as the process can be cumbersome. I will assist as best as possible and do have really good access to shippers to the UK, Europe  and Australia. I can also ship to the middle east as well. But please note that all paperwork will be handled by the buyer.

Seller Notes:
  • If you are a serious buyer and have the money in hand, I am happy to talk to you on the phone about whatever questions or interest you have in the bikes. But please, no time wasters or tire kickers.
  • If you are a serious buyer, it is available to be shown, but I am not looking for tire kickers or time wasters. The bike is located in Northern California.
Payment: A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of closing, or a friendly phone call or clear email on who you are and how you intend to close the deal. I am very easy to work with, but a little clear communication goes a long way with me. Paypal is fine for deposit, but the fee and commission they take is very high.  We will take payment however is easiest for you for to send, as we understand that some buyers might be out of the country. Cash, bank to bank payment, bank check, Paypal, WU, Carrier Pidgin - whatever - but as long as it clears our bank and you are not playing the Nigerian lottery with me, I could care less how it comes. Just make sure it comes when you say it will come.

My bikes are always for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time if a local buyer comes forward.

In case you are wondering anything about me as a seller, I have been on eBay since 1998 (thats over 18 years) and have not one negative feedback. I am just a nut for older dirt bikes and ATV's from the 1980's. I have a nice collection of bikes that I have built up over 15 years of collecting and messing about. I have several others that I am selling, including several 85 - 86 250r's and 350x's, as well as some Fourtrax TRX250r stuff. I am clearing out some bikes to make room for other projects.

See my other listings for some more of my stuff, but I doubt I will get around to listing all of them.

Casey Stoner Testing The Honda RC213V At Motegi – Video

Fri, 09 Aug 2013

Casey Stoner made a surprise return to MotoGP recently, participating in a two-day test with former employer, Honda. Check out the video below to see the former champ in action. The test took place at the Honda-owned Motegi circuit, where Stoner rode the 2013 model in the morning session before switching to 2014 machinery — the same spec bikes Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez currently pilot — in the afternoon.  Unfortunately, the Australian only managed six laps during the first day of testing due to rain, but completed 47 laps the following day when conditions were much better.

Day 11 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins, Extends Overall Lead

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Day 11 marked the longest stage to date of the Dakar Rally, as the competitors tackled the 605km (376 miles) special stage, covering a variety of terrain, hard ground, mountains, plus 120km (75 miles) of sand and dunes in the Copiapo area. Despite this, and a fall at the beginning of the stage, Marc Coma again demonstrated his status as boss of the Dakar 2014, by picking up his third victory of the year, further reinforcing his position at the top of the general standings. Five-time Dakar winner Cyril Depres opened the piste for 400km before dropping slightly to finish just 02:31 behind Marc Coma in first.
