Excellent condition. Stock configuration. Triple disc brakes (all new/rebuilt) Electric start (works great) carbs re-jetted and Dunstall mufflers are the only deviations from stock. This bike was purchased new by my good friend here in CT. and has always been in CT. The original Avons were dry-cracked, so I replaced with new Dunlops (which I prefer). I had the original Bing carbs rebuilt and re-jetted by Bing in Kansas ($650). Perfect paint by Don Hutchinson. Over $10K spent on resto work (does not include purchase price) 11,000 original miles. New Stuff: Bridgestone BT-016 Pro's
Thu, 24 Mar 2011Well it was inevitable really, the gloriously sticky and not very durable Metzler Racetec K3's had seen their last mile on the Triumph. After being ripped through 2500 miles by the Speeds thumping 1050 Triple motor the rear had all but squared off. To replace them I’ve opted for Bridgestones new BT-16 Pro's because their previous incarnation had proved to offer supersport grip in the corners but also offer high mileage rates.
Triumph’s Wheel Bearing Recall Spreads to US for 2011-2012 Daytona 675, Street Triple and 2012 Thunderbird and Thunderbird Storm
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Earlier this week, we wrote about a recall in Canada for unapproved wheel bearings for the 2011-2012 Triumph Daytona 675 sportbike and its naked sibling the Street Triple. As expected, a similar recall has now been announced for the U.S., adding the Thunderbird and Thunderbird Storm cruisers to the campaign. The recall also affects the 2011-2012 Triumph Street Triple R but the Daytona 675R is not included in the recall.
Ducati top brass check out Triumph's class
Wed, 03 Oct 2012Manufacturers checking out manufacturers is nothing new. At trade shows like Intermot rival manufacturers are as eager as the journalists to see the new models being unveiled. I happened across three of Ducati's top brass checking out the bikes on Triumph's stand, Left to right you have: Diego Sgorbati, Marketing Director, Gabriele del Torchio, CEO and Claudio Domenicali, the boss of Ducati Corse.
