Yamaha XS description

this custom XS650 bobber is for sale. built in spring of 2013, this bike has been ridden only about 1000 miles since it was built. stock engine/carbs/etc, with a custom hardtailed frame, gastank, fender, and tons of other parts. Firestone deluxe tires. lots of custom nickel-plated parts, and the gas-tank/fender/electrical box were all professionally custom painted by Old School Helmets. The bike is always getting compliments whenever i go anywhere on it. the bike starts up easily and runs and rides great. the tuning may need to be adjusted for it to run perfectly at your altitude.

you can see a video of the bike start-up, running and riding here:

as a disclaimer: this is being sold as a "running show bike", it is up to you to figure out you're state inspection requirements. comes with a clean Utah title, as well as a Bill of Sale

if you win the auction, i'll need a non-refundable deposit of $500 within 48 hours of the auction ending via Paypal. the remaining balance will need to be paid within 7 days of the auction ending (or when the motorcycle is picked up, or before delivery; if that occurs before 5 days). i'm selling to US residents ONLY. but if you are outside the US, email me, if you can arrange a third party shipper we might be able to figure it out.

Shipping costs are the responsibility of the Buyer. I'm offering to personally deliver the motorcycle if you are in the surrounding states to Utah (CO, AZ, NV, CA, OR, WA, ID, WY) for the price of gas (10MPG). otherwise you are welcome to pickup the bike yourself, or you'll need to coordinate with a third party shipping company, which i'd be happy to deliver the motorcycle to, as long as they're located within Salt Lake City, UT. if you have any questions feel free to email me and i will get back to you within a few hours

thanks for looking!

An Island tour with a legend

Fri, 17 Sep 2010

What you are watching is a highlight of Mike Hailwood's segment from the racing documentary Take it to the Limit - A Motorcycle Odyssey. The Yamaha - built by the extraordinary Kel Carruthers - that Hailwood is riding in the clip featured a unique frame with the camera housed within. The voice-over recording provided by Hailwood was done by taping a small mic to the bottom of his lip so he could dictate his guide to the 37.73 mile route.

Colin Edwards’ Gear Being Auctioned For Feed The Children

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

While Colin Edwards may no longer be a factory Yamaha racer these days, he still enjoys a close bond with the tuning fork brand. So much so that Yamaha has announced a unique opportunity to bid on a historic set of road racing leathers, boots, gloves, and helmet as worn by Edwards during this, his final season in MotoGP. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Feed the Children, which is Yamaha Motor Corporation’s official corporate charity.

2014 AMA Supercross – Toronto Results

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

James Stewart captured his series-leading fourth AMA Supercross 450 class win of the season, giving him sole possession of second place on the overall career wins list ahead of Ricky Carmichael and behind Jeremy McGrath. The win also helped Stewart gain some ground on points leader Ryan Villopoto who suffered from a bout of food poisoning. Villopoto was examined at a Toronto hospital and released in time for the opening ceremonies.
