BMW K 1200 LT MOTORCYCLE – LOW MILES – NO RESERVE For sale is a 1999 BMW K 1200 LT in Very Good Condition. I am selling all of my bikes, because I am getting older and don’t get out that often. I have owned 7 bikes, and this one is by far my favorite. It easily handles two passengers and all of the luggage you can handle. I purchased this bike 5+ years ago, and have probably put an average of 600 miles on it per year. The tires and brakes are in excellent shape and working condition. The hard cases are in great shape and perfect working condition. I have taken excellent care of this bike, which has been garaged and covered when not in use. I have also changed the oil and filters regularly. Also included, are all of the items needed for the next service (oil, oil filter, oil filter tool, and air filter). I am also including a newer cover to shield the bike from dust and the elements. This bike is in the exact same condition that I purchased it. There are several markings on the bike that most people don’t notice. When I purchased the bike, I was making aware the cruise control occasionally disengages. Although this has happened a handful of times, it has never been enough of an issue to warrant attention (see last pictures). As NOTED ABOVE, EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE BIKE IS IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER. The previous owner took the radio and cd player out, what he did with the control buttons I have no idea. Rear brake lines upgraded to braided. This LT is in excellent condition HOWEVER it has a small gas leak on the right side that needs repair. The paint and seat are in excellent condition. The cruise control works great, the electric windshield works and the heated grips work. This LT is a joy to ride and engine, transmission and final drive are in good shape. Tires are good and the rear only has 1500 miles on it. Fri, 04 Jul 2014BMW announced a new special edition version of the K1300S equipped with some upgraded parts and a unique paint job. The 2015 BMW K1300S Motorsport comes with a new Black Storm Metallic, Light White and Lupine Blue Metallic color scheme, with a bit of red striping for good measure. A band of black running across the top of the bike from nose to tank to tail is complemented by a tinted windscreen.

Thu, 03 Jul 2014BMW has officially recalled the 2014 R1200RT in the U.S., after the company released a worldwide warning to customers about a potential defect with the rear suspension system. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the piston rod on the R1200RT’s Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) rear shock absorber may break without warning. The problem was first discovered April 1 after a warranty claim was filed in France.

No formal recall has been announced at the moment; BMW is calling it a precautionary measure, though that may change in time or depending on the market. According to BMW, the piston rod of the rear spring strut could break.

Tue, 03 Jun 2014Michael Dunlop won his second race in the 2014 Isle of Man TT and ninth in his career, taking the RL360 Superstock TT on a BMW S1000RR. Dunlop also won the Superbike TT earlier, giving BMW its first two wins on the Isle of Man since 1939. Meanwhile, Supersport TT 1 winner Gary Johnson was injured in a crash on the opening lap while running second behind Dunlop.

Mon, 02 Jun 2014Michael Dunlop won a historic Dainese Superbike race to kick off the 2014 Isle of Man TT week. Riding the S1000RR, Dunlop secured BMW its first win on the Isle of Man since Georg Meier won on a Type 255 Kompressor in 1939. After catching early leader James Hillier of the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team on the opening lap, Dunlop continued to set an impressive first lap time of 17:11.107, which translates to a record average speed of 131.730 mph on the 37.73-mile Mountain Course.

Tue, 27 May 2014BMW has initiated a recall on 2012-2014 C600 Sport and C650GT scooters because of a problem with their timing chain tensioners. As of this writing, recalls have been announced in Canada and Germany but not for the U.S., though we expect the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will announce a similar recall shortly.
